Myra Dietzel is the writer, director, and lead actress for Dedication Damage. Myra has always been drawn to art, in any medium and form it may take. Over the years she has gained a wide variety of experiences in multiple mediums, e.g. sculpture, modeling, music, and more. However film has become her love and main focus. What draws Myra most to film is the ability to create, explore, and share completely new worlds from nothing but one’s own imagination.
As far as production is concerned, Myra has worked in an array of fields. She has been actress on occasion since she was 5 years old. Within the last 6 years, she has become increasingly active on the production side of theater and film. She’s acquired experience with live sound, lighting (for theater), set design,
Her last short film, Dealer’s Choice, is currently in post and is scheduled to be finished this Spring, afterwards it shall be sent out to several film festivals across the country. Myra hopes to do even more with Dedication Damage, sending it to national and international film festivals upon its completion. The influences for Dedication Damage’s story comes from the lives and experiences some people close to her have had, as well as a little of her own experiences.
Outside of film, Myra works as a sound technician for local theater productions and as a studio portrait photographer.
